Mike Fitzpatrick Memorial

A celebration of life will be held in honor of Mike Fitzpatrick on Thursday, January 19th at 1:00PM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (235 Chapel Street, Grass Valley, CA 95945). A reception will follow at The Foothill Event Center (400 Idaho Maryland Road, Grass Valley, CA 95945).

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Michael's name to: Nevada City Little League, PO BOX 82, Nevada City, CA 95959. A memorial fund will be established in Michael's name at the request of his family.

TRYOUTS

Tryouts will be held Saturday, January 7th from 9am-12n and Sunday, January 22nd from 1pm-4pm. Players minors and above will need to attend at least one of these tryouts, unless your player is currently roster-ed on a Junior or Majors division team.

In an effort to let our coaches better evaluate players and for players to experience a more thorough tryout, players will be placed in groups that will progress through several stations. This new format will require each player to demonstrate their abilities in each of the following categories; warm ups, ground balls, fly balls, batting, pitching, catching and timed sprints.

Players should plan to arrive 15 minutes early to check in and warm up. Junior and Majors should plan on staying for the duration of their divisions time slot. Minors players may come at any time during their time slot, however the last tryout group will start no later than 20 minutes prior to the end of tryouts (11:40 on 1/7 & 3:40 on 1/22).

1/7 Tryout Schedule:

Juniors                   9:00 - 9:30 AM

Majors                    9:15 – 10:30 AM

Minors                    10:15 – 12:00 PM

1/22 Tryout Schedule:

Juniors                   1:00 – 1:30 PM

Majors                    1:15 – 2:30 PM

Minors                    2:15 – 4:00 PM

 

Document Verification 1/7 & 1/22
Saturday morning, January 7th, is the second opportunity for you to come and let us verify your child(ren)’s birth certificate(s) and that your residence is within our boundaries, as well as filling out the volunteer form.

Please come by the SEVEN HILLS Gymnasium between 9:00AM - 12:00 PM on the 7th (Saturday). The last option for document verification is January 22nd. Each player must be verified by January 22nd.

What to bring:

- Your child’s original birth certificate
- A photocopy of your Drivers license.
- THREE different proofs of residence with your physical address. These can be things like your driver’s license, car registration, and auto insurance. Any 3 proofs of residence from the following groups may be used, as long as they verify your physical address. Driver’s license, vehicle records, voter’s registration, federal records, state records, local (municipal) records, homeowner/tenant records, utility bills, financial records, insurance documents, medical records, internet/cable/satellite bills and employment records. We can only accept one proof of residence from each of these groups; If your child is league age 9 or over, you need to hold onto these specific forms, which will be required if he/she makes it onto an All Star team.
- Your checkbook for the Snack Shack deposit ($150 per child, not including the" “junior” or "senior" division players). These checks will be held and not cashed. Specifics our explained in the Snack Shack Agreement" available on our downloads page.
- If you live outside of our boundaries but your child goes to school in Nevada City, he/she can play in our league, as long as you have "School Enrollment Form" signed by the principal of the school. This form is available on our downloads page. Due to a change in Little League rules we can no longer accept a report card as proof of your child's attendance.

Please provide all of these documents at once. We can only verify your child’s enrollment if we have completed paperwork.

The Annual General Meeting of Nevada City Little League was held Sept 12th, 2016 with the passing of our amended Constitution and the welcoming of our 2016-2017 Board and Committee Members.

We have added a second Vice President this year Conor Farrell as we transition from long time president Mike Fitzpatrick to our new President Jamie Jones!
